I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

snow and spring || week 4

“Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around people's legs like house cats. It was magical, this snow globe world.”
― Sarah Addison AllenThe Sugar Queen

sometimes this is me. . .
the love of my world gushing up from my heart,
brimming outward, with joy and thanks giving

these two are often the cause of that joy
together my kids. . .

and the beauty i find
in the world around me

Sundance was started as a mechanism for the discovery of new voices and new talent.
~ Robert Redford

we just came back from a trip to Utah,
where we saw a few Sundance films
(which made me feel a bit cultured)
and played a bit in the snow
i packed my camera around my neck
through Park City and Salt Lake
but took very few photos of the people or city life

but rather was drawn to the breathtaking beauty of the outdoors

the luminous moments of light

and the playfulness of life in the snow

can you find the heart?

this week i spotted the first signs of spring

how was your week?
