forgiveness || week 11

“May I meet this moment fully. May I meet it as a friend.”
― Sylvia Boorstein, Happiness Is an Inside Job: Practicing for a Joyful Life

this week, my tiny part of the world is rejuvenated
signs of spring are everywhere, filling me with joy
gratification, delight and peace of mind

“I love the phrase 'I am not afraid!' Maybe it's the best phrase we can say, other than 'I have everything I need.' Maybe they are the same. ”
― Sylvia Boorstein, Happiness Is an Inside Job: Practicing for a Joyful Life

in one hour, spent listening to a conversation
not even directed at me,
i uncovered the power of forgiveness
this deep forgiveness, unfolded bit by bit, over the hour
and was directed at myself no less, a bit of grace
and release from regret and remorse

“... the moment in which the mind acknowledge 'This isn't what I wanted, but it's what I got' is the point at which suffering disappears. Sadness might remain present, but the mind ... is free to console, free to support the mind's acceptance of the situation, free to allow space for new possibilities to come into view.”
― Sylvia Boorstein, Happiness Is an Inside Job: Practicing for a Joyful Life

three things:
i am still meditating and i think it is getting easier
(even become a bit neccesary maybe}
jordan and katie came for a short visit
we found a killer dog park

“Effort, concentration, and mindfulness are the internal ways in which the mind restores itself from being out of balance and lost in confusion to a condition of ease, clarity, and wisdom NO external action needs to happen. ”
― Sylvia Boorstein, Happiness Is an Inside Job: Practicing for a Joyful Life

“I never made a mistake in my life. I thought I did once, but I was wrong.”

An amazing, strong and wonderful friend, introduced me to Sylvia Boorstein this past week. If you don't know her, do check her out. A good place to start might be with this podcast.
i might have this quote tattooed on my forehead!

“Sweetheart, you are in pain. Relax. Take a breath. Let's pay attention to what is happening. Then we'll figure out what to do.”
