I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

a new home

a new home

Brandon and Courtney bought a new home!

What I really mean is they bought a little piece of paradise. Almost five acres of trails and amazing beauty. A fenced in garden space and room for some new chicks. Trails for morning and evening walks and lots of room for the pugs and their cousins to play.

Basil and I roamed ever trail. He waded in the streams and ate pond grass, which is his favorite, and I took photos.

There are blueberries and raspberries and rhubarb. Pear and apple and cherry trees. And flowers.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
~John Muir

They will be busy unpacking and getting settled and building that chicken coop, eager to make it their own. So busy in fact, I wonder if he ever got that rhubarb crisp made!
