I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

it was a quiet day, the rain never really letting up. he helped me hang some photos before he took off for the east side.

he has spent the day packing, the two of them laughing downstairs. tomorrow i will have to take him to the airport, but we all still have a few hours tonight.

no, you can't get out of the car until i take a photo! i gave him my cold so i hope the warm weather cures him fast. i cried a bit when i got into the car. . . it is always hard to see him go. xoxox

there is homework too! it feels good to move and stretch and work towards a goal.

we sat for hours solving all the problems of the world over tea, her home cozy and warm. she sent me home with eggs and a full heart.

be sure to save me just one Butterfinger i told him on the phone. . . . so glad the rain let up.

his flexibility and willingness to do something that is important to me but not really to him, continues to confirm how serious he is to try and understand me better and it fills my heart so.
