I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

WHAT IS LEFT OF 2014

i have been thinking about new projects and new goals for 2015. i have some ideas i have already thrown out and some i will no doubt give up on. i hope some of them stick.

waking to sun
a short (3 mile) hike with him and the dog
movie night with popcorn
and the start of a new book

i didn't want to worry you, she told me
until i knew what was going on
they say everything should be okay
i pray they are right

here i am at the end of 2014
full heart because she came home today
and everything looks like it will be okay
it is amazing how we can learn something overnight
learn that we just really never know
so we need to live every moment and love big
we will bring in the New Year with a cup of tea
and a movie,
the dog, him and me
neither of us feel very well
and actually even if we did
i think that is what we would do
because we have everything we need
right here. . .
