I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

we can't take the first one we see i said; so we walked the tree farm until we found the perfect tree. he even helped me decorate it.

do you want the good news or the bad I asked him.... the furnace is okay, but we need a new heat pump. Merry Christmas to us!

today was busy and full; filled with please and thank you, children's smiles, an amazing lunch where i met a new friend, fog on the pond and a long walk with the dog.

i met an old friend for breakfast this morning and we talked for hours catching up. the rain was relentless and so there was no walk, but the dog and i did play fetch with his favorite toy in the basement.

it was past noon before i got showered and dressed. after that i was quite productive.

we left the dog home for most of the day while we shopped. i rewarded both us with an extra long walk at twilight.

we found him in the airport with flip-flops and his huge smile!
