WEEK 4

January 28, 2015 cathy sly

022/365
i had the pool all to myself this morning
back and forth for almost 45 minutes
on the way home i needed milk
and these tulips called to me
there was a long walk with the dog
and then i treated myself to my latest obsession;
The Great British Back Off
how come i am always the last to know!

023/365
errands were run
the dog to get his nails trimmed
and a new headlight for my car
i made recipe #6 from Plenty
Smoky Frittata, which i will make again
he made the salad and opened wine
oh and who would know i would love
the rowing machine at the gym like i do?

024/365
we met them for dinner
trying out the new bar and grill in town
everyone else in town had the same idea
we were all too full to eat the birthday cakes
so i sent them home with them

025/365
it is always a treat to wake to blue sky
and sun and shadows dancing along the wood floors
we had a small misunderstanding
before heading to the big dog park along the water
where basil played so hard
and the sun put us both in better moods
he headed for the east side when we got home
and the dog...
well he is still sleeping

026/365
the day was glorious, warm and sunny
and it left me yearning for spring
tonight there was a long talk with Brandon
fishing, a new phone for him and cooking
in a bit i will crawl into bed and finish my book
savoring the last of it

027/365
she called and felt just like i did
let's get out of the house i said
so we headed to World Market for a bit
where i found these pickles
which brandon raved and raved about last night
i however, did not get the spicy ones
but the girl who checked me out assured me
i would be back for more

028/365
i mixed up bread while still in my morning sweats
and then, with the dog's head in my lap, i finally finished the book
sitting in the sun, which streamed through the front windows
sill in my morning sweats
and then talked to her for almost an hour
her voice and words so understanding and speaking to my heart
and then i finally showered in mid afternoon
and went outside with the dog and thought so much about the day
and all the beauty that unfolded
and how blessed i feel to have the life i do
