I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

today reminded me saturdays of the past
where there were so many chores and errands to get done
i never had a chance to sit down
but now my new car fits in the carport
and the squash are put away for the winter,
along with the potatoes
i made Jamie Oliver's granola dust
for breakfast next week
and played fetch with the dog
after i picked flowers to fill the house
there was a nice dinner with the first of Jordan's
Alaskan salmon and the first Brussels sprouts from the market
five loads of laundry are done
and folded, but not put away yet (right after i post this)
then i think a glass of red wine is calling to me
and a movie i picked up at Redbox
after grocery shopping

it's a feel good kind of tired. . .
