I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

i booked my tickets today to go back east in june
and suddenly i can't wait
it will be a long spring i think,
but this space is calling to me
to fill in the time
so much work to be done
but the possibilities feel good

this came in yesterday at the library
a long time hold i had forgotten all about
my choice for February's cookbook
i made the brussel sprouts tonight

this weeks shooting with soul prompt is books
i headed downstairs to the bookshelves
where all the kids books are kept
so many to choose from, just waiting to be read
i chose the Maggie B.,  just about my favorite
and i read it while sitting on the floor and had a yearning
to make muffins and roasted peaches with honey and cinnamon

gratitudes. . .
starting the day with a phone call from jordan
hearing his voice, catching up
then birthday breakfast with these two
their smiles and laughter make me happy
later a long walk with the dog
after gary took off for the east side
no rain and a bit of sun
full heart today, full heart

it was a quiet day
the gym, a walk, a bit a reading
and catching up on project life
i am ready for the rain to stop
ready to prune the roses

the sun came out today
it started with just a bit of blue sky
and just kept on going
i stood on the deck in my shirtsleeves and bare feet
and watched Basil with his turtle
which has been in hibernation for most of the winter
and now has a new home somewhere in the garden

i had all kinds of great intentions today
but was not very good with the follow through
there was no rain and it was warm enough to be outside
where i weeded about a third of the biggest flower bed
i was amazed at what is poking up out of the ground
and pleased with the amount of worms
squirming around in the dirt
