I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

saturday::week 35

248/365
we walked along the Cedar this morning
letting the dog run free for a good part of the way
he let me practice slowing down my shutter speed
and we both commented on how we could feel fall in the air
the river is low and the leaves are starting to turn
i cooked the unidentified squash from the garden for dinner
and now i am sure it is a cross-pollinated spaghetti i squash
there is a cookie tart waiting for the kids
who will be here in a bit to spend the night
and the rain is falling outside this evening
along with a bit of thunder and lightening
i like the way it sounds . . .
