I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

wednesday || week 10

day 69
on days like today it is so important for me to be aware gratitude
what i wanted to do was let the day slip by unnoticed, let my camera sit idle on my desk,
ignore the world. . .
but out we went for just a few minutes and i noticed:
the earth is so green right now and the rain falls steady and hard, it dances on the roof and pours into the rain barrel which is overflowing into the yard as the wind blows gently. the rain drops look like tiny stings of light, all lined up in perfect rows on the tree limbs, and spring buds are everywhere. bit fat worms take to the driveway, and the dog leaves footprints in the carport when we come back in. he shakes and his tags jingle and i ask him if it was worth it; he wags his tail in reply.
i understand without a doubt, that we both feel better now. . .
