I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth. 

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

day 212
we all slept in a bit (we were their first guest!), got dressed
and Jordan and i walked to TJ's with the dog for oj
(how fun to be able to walk to the store!)
later we headed to the farmers market for a bit and then the guys brought another load over
(seven bikes) and odds and ends
she fixed me lunch and unpacked some of the kitchen
the two of them picked perfect pears from their beautiful tree in the back yard ~ 
a bag for us to take home. . .  
they never stopped smiling the whole time we were there
and he and i talked, all the way home, about how happy they are
