I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

day 215 || gratitudes
understanding when I changed plans at the last minute, new eyeglasses for a clearer picture, listening to the rain this morning as it hit our metal roof, a bit of a walk, along with some thunder, which made the dog want to run for home, the smell of these phlox, still, a long phone conversation with my sister, laugher and connection, potatoes and green beans from the garden for dinner. . .

It helps to see ourselves as flowers. If a flower were to push itself to open faster, which it can't, it would tear.  Yet we humans can and often do push ourselves. Often we tear in places no one can see.  ~ Mark Nepo
