I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

day 234 || gratitudes
childhood friendships that last, sitting on the deck last night, all of us hot and tired and happy, talking about the wedding, Seahawks colors done with class, four black pugs in the house (one belonging to the bride and groom who are in Hawaii by now), smoked chicken and fresh corn on the cob before everyone headed out this afternoon, family, smiles, understanding and a surprise visit from a man and his wife, asking if they could take a look at the backyard, because he had spent his high school years in this house, showing them around, bringing back memories for him and his wife, i am so happy they asked. . .
