I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

thursday || debate

i wake groggy from allergies and a bit of cold

i debate back and forth with myself about the gym
but in the end i go row. . .  we all moan when Liz walks in to sub
for we know she will kick our butts, and she does. there are moments
i struggle, but i pace myself and walk out sweaty, and clear headed
with a little over 8,000 meters on my machine!

he spends the day in the yard but all i manage to do is i water the veggie seeds,
pick a bit a rhubarb and read a bit on the deck, watching the daddy behind us
build an amazing play set for his kiddos. there are leftovers for dinner and
warm rhubarb crumble for dessert.

it's such a perfect day. . .
