thursday || my dog
“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold
over the grassy hillside.”
― Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy-Tacy and Tib
I caught him searching for a bit a shade in the cool grass this afternoon. He warms my heart and fills my days with meaning and joy. In a couple of weeks he will turn ten and I can tell he is slowing down a bit. He has that look down, the one where I can't resist his wishes. He is the first dog we have had that is mine, all the others preferring someone else in the family. He and I are pals and I feel blessed to have him by my side.
