I believe that everything starts by paying attention. Life is imperfect and any magical light we can bring into our day is worthy of our gratitude. Laughter and love, joy and celebrations slip into our lives with ease but learning to cope with the deep pain life brings to us is also necessary. I do this best with my camera, chasing down light, zooming in and out and pairing it all with truth.

I live in Western Washington with my husband of 40+ years, in the home where we raised our three sons. We share that home now with our sweet beagle named Basil.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

saturday || week 36

day 247
i think a lot lately about this space, wanting to give it just
a little bit more of myself. wondering how that might feel.
the last week has been heavy with worry, fret and sad news, and today
he was driving our new family room couch and chair home in the truck
and the chair tumbled off the back of the truck . . . yep, right off the back!
luckily, not into the car behind him! but there was damage done to the chair arms
and he is angry with himself and thinks we should by a new chair.
and yet i think... no way, it is just a chair and i will take one of the pillows
and make some arm covers and all will be fine (except, i have become my mom)

we have our health,
and we have each other, and we are working towards
common goals and today there was exciting wedding talk with Jordan and Katie.
So yea, the chair, it already has dog hair on it
and besides, it is just a chair. . .

biggest potato yet, from the garden!
